Thanks Three Million Rules
"Thanks Three Million" celebrates three million site
visits to
www.everythingstmaarten.com and
www.everythingstmartin.com,
expected this year. We will draw the winner after reaching 3,000,000 site
visits or by January 15, 2011, if 1/15/11 is later.
Contest Objective: Win a vacation
(or two) to St. Maarten by meeting the qualifications in these rules. No purchase necessary.
How the contest works:
The First Grand Prize winner gets her or his
pick of two one-week vacations at any two of the resorts and villas listed above. That same
winner also receives all the other non-hotel or non-villa prizes listed above.
All other winners also get one-week St. Maarten vacations; there will be
seven winners of vacations, total. [Note: The First Grand Prize winner
cannot claim both villa prizes -- one must be a resort vacation.]
See eligibility details below.
How we pick the winner:
Winner will
be selected at random from all entries received. These rules are subject to change.
Rules that apply are those in effect when we do the
drawing late in 2010 or by January 15, 2011.
Where to send entries: Follow
the rules below for all entries. Online entries
will be offered soon. Mail entries can be sent to:
Thanks Three Million, c/o JMB Communications, P. O. Box 1812,
Plymouth, MA 02362-1812. Priority mail is not
necessary . . . first class is sufficient.
Rules:
1. Visit Often: Go to
www.ournewstmaartenwebsite.com and look around . . . the site will be
completed (all pages populated with stories) during Summer, 2010. A hit
counter showing combined hits from
www.evereythingstmaarten.com
and our new site will be posted soon. Combined visits at this writing are
over 2.83-million.
2. Eligibility: Entries that do not meet eligibility requirements
(by not adhering to these rules) will be shredded and used for confetti or colorful
garden mulch in our company garden.
3. How To Enter: Visit our home page at
www.ournewstmaartenwebsite.com . Click "Site Map" in the Navigation Bar
on the left side of the page. Think of a SXM vacation-related topic that
is not in our current list. On a piece of plain paper (or lined, we
don't care), PRINT your name, street mailing address, email address, daytime
and evening telephone numbers, and your
suggestion for a new topic for us to cover. You can enter as often as
you like by ground mail provided each entry includes a different,
relevant story idea and meets eligibility requirements. When you enter
online, the limit is one online entry per email address. Note: we
know our Site Map is exhaustive. If you can't think of any new page
suggestions, punt (meaning enter with an idea even if it's wacky.) Again, if
you enter my ground mail more than once, every entry must have a different
idea. One couple sent a suggestion to us earlier for a tan line contest and
included pictures we can not publish...
4. Mailing: To be eligible for the First Grand Prize, all entries must be postmarked no later
than 12/31/2010. See #17.
5.
Other Vacation Prizes:
Winners of all prizes will be selected from entries
drawn totally at random.
6. Cancellation: JMB reserves the right to cancel this contest at any time, for any reason. If we do so, no prizes will be awarded. JMB also reserves the right to offer substitute prizes of approximately equal or greater value, if available, should that be necessary. (We don't expect either of these things to happen.)
7. Previous winners of JMB travel prizes and employees or contractors of JMB Communications and their immediate families are not eligible.
8. Unclaimed prizes: If a Grand Prize is unclaimed, or a person drawn is ineligible or declines the prizes, JMB will draw again from
all entries to determine the winner.
Prizes may be transferable to others at the sole discretion of JMB and those
providing the prizes. (One winner wanted to transfer the prize to her son
who was coming home on leave from Iraq; we immediately agreed.)
9. Airfare is not included, but the "First Grand
Price" winner will be given a free one-year membership
or membership extension in JMB Website Supporters to use in obtaining low-cost airfares.
10. Rules changes: JMB reserves the right to amend these rules at its discretion at any time.
11. Entrant age: Winners must be at least 21 years old.
12. Void where prohibited, taxed, or restricted. You may incur an income tax liability by claiming prizes; consult your tax advisor.
13. No purchase necessary to win.
14. No prize substitution -- prizes have no cash value and will not be converted into cash. Prizes may or may not be transferable; ask us if you
are a winner. (See #8.)
15. All prizes are subject to restrictions imposed
by the businesses providing them. For example, at restaurants supplying
dinner for two, you can order off the menu but the restaurant is free to
impose restrictions on what alcohol you may or may not be able to order.
Meals are not included at hotels unless otherwise specified. Some vacations may be subject to seasonal
restrictions/limitations, deadlines for travel, security deposits, or other conditions.
Some villas prohibit children. Others allow winners to vacation summers
only. Other deadlines and conditions may apply to other
items.
16. NOTICE: In conducting its giveaways, JMB Communications does not act as an agent for, and has no legal association whatsoever with, any of the companies that provide prizes. Prizes are provided directly by the companies that own them to the winners; JMB has no involvement except to advise the companies of the identity of the winners.
By
entering this contest and/or accepting any prizes, winners conclusively and irrevocably agree without recourse to hold JMB Communications harmless in the event of any dispute of any kind regarding any prize, its use, or its provider. This provision cannot be waived by anyone. Prizes are provided by their owners to winners in return for publicity given by JMB Communications. JMB Communications will accept no liability whatsoever if any company or person that has agreed to provide prizes for this giveaway fails to do so, or provides something other than what they agreed to provide. The prizes are provided by them, not by us.
17. All paperwork must reach us
by 1/3/2011.
JMB is not responsible for lost, delayed,
or misrouted entries.
18. Winners must agree to being mentioned on JMB Communications websites (first name,
last initial, and city only) and
the First Grand Prize winner must agree to being shown in at least one photo.
19. We plan to draw about 50
entries at random from ground mail and email
entries. Those will be our finalists and they
will not be announced. Jeff Berger expects to personally call all travel award
winners for all Thanks Three Million travel prizes, picked from those
finalist entries. These phone calls may be made
live on the air on Island92 radio in St.
Maarten.
20. By
entering, all entrants certify that they meet all
eligibility requirements stated here, have read
these rules, and agree to abide by them.
Judges decisions are final and by entering, all
entrants agree not to question or appeal any judges'
decisions, in any way.
21. DRAWING
DATE: January 17, 2010, at the latest. We are not
responsible for any fainting, palpitations, or heart attacks
when we call to tell you that you won it all...
