All prizes for "Thanks Two Million" are Grand Prizes. The first name drawn from all eligible entries wins our First Grand Prize, which is her (or his) choice of four weeks of vacation from these fine resorts or villas (limit, one week per location) plus ALL the prizes listed in the second section:

Winners were drawn at radio station WATD in Marshfield, Massachusetts, south of Boston, December 12, by Plymouth Massachusetts Town Manager Mark Sylvia and Assistant Town Manager Melissa Arrighi. The ceremonies were simulcast on WATD and on Island92 in St. Maarten and on both www.island92.com and on www.959watd.com.

JMB Communications is grateful to the many businesses that donated prizes, airtime, man (and woman!) hours, and countless hours of help to make "Thanks Two Million" such fun for the many thousands of people who entered.

And yes, we will do this again starting "some time" in 2008!

First Grand Prize Winners:

Dick is a retired Police Chief and is currently employed by The Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association in Harrisburg.

Linda works at H Edward Black & Associates PC, Landscape Architects in Harrisburg as the Office Manager.

They've traveled to SXM numerous times and are looking forward "to taking advantage of this great prize package that Jeff has put together." Dick told Jeff, "I nearly died when I heard my name on the radio."

Linda & Dick won four weeks of St. Maarten vacations plus everything you see immediately above.

*Whoever wins the Club Orient vacation will receive the Tintamarre nude cruise aboard Tiko-Tiko. The Tiko-Tiko prize will NOT Be awarded to the First Grand Prize Winner unless that winner selects the Club Orient vacation prize.

**Cabins normally rent for about $4200.00/week. Your cabin (for two) is free; there is a small $695 required charge per person for three meals a day for virtually the entire trip, and open bar aboard. The food is incredible....  

The "Second" Grand Prize winner will be drawn from entries in our Club Orient giveaway IF the First Grand Prize winner does not pick the Club Orient vacation; otherwise Club Orient entrants will be eligible for any other available vacations along with all other entrants. In addition to a one-week St. Maarten vacation, the Second Grand Prize Winner will also receive a jewelry gift certificate from DK Gems in Philipsburg.

The Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and new Seventh Grand Prize winners each get their choice of one week at one of the still-available hotels or villas from the list above, or the week-long catamaran cruise.

The "when will we reach 2,000,000" drawing (for one week) has been cancelled; all entries have been transferred to "Thanks Two Million."

"Thanks Two Million," Our Celebration of Reaching 2,000,000 Site Visits In 2007

Contest Objective: Win one of TEN one-week vacations to St. Maarten ("First Grand Prize" winner gets four weeks in St. Maarten) and related prizes (shown above) by meeting the qualifications shown in these rules. No purchase necessary.

How the contest works: Visitors to Jeff Berger's "St. Maarten Information Center " website who can prove they visited when our hit counter registers anywhere from 1,850,000 visitors to 2,150,000 visitors and who meet the other requirements detailed below will be eligible for the Grand Prize drawing if they submit the proof of visit noted in the rules shown below. Entrants may start mailing entries the day our hit counter reaches 1,850,000 site visits. All entries must be postmarked no later than two business days after our site reaches 2,150,000 visitors. (See #18 below.) Entries from outside the US mailing late in the process should use airmail; for all others, first class mail should be sufficient.

These rules are subject to change. Rules that apply are those in effect on the date we reach 1,850,000 site visitors (unless we change them after that, which is what has happened.)

Rules:

1. No Refreshing Pages: Site visitors are not allowed to continuously refresh pages to increase hit counter numbers. We can detect this and will automatically shred entries received from people who do it. Coming back several times a day is fine; refreshing the home page endlessly isn't.

2. Eligibility: Entries that do not meet eligibility requirements defined in these rules will be discarded without further notice. JMB will both define and be the sole judge of your proof.

3. Proof of Site Visit: The winner must print the top of the JMB SXM home page (NOT this page) clearly showing the hit counter which must be displaying any number from 1,850,000 visitors to 2,150,000 visitors to be eligible to participate in the Thanks Two Million Prize Drawing. In Windows systems, press the PrtScn key near the upper right of your keyboard while viewing the page with the hit counter visible. Open Microsoft Word or a similar program, and click EDIT then PASTE. The image of the browser should appear on the page. Save the document, then print it. Do Not e-mail it to us. See below. Mac users can print the page however it's easiest for them.  Proof of site visit required.

4. Visit www.everythingstmaarten.com.  On a piece of paper, tell us what your favorite page on our site is, and also tell us what you'd like to see on our site that we don't currently offer. PRINT your name, street address, city, state, zip or postal code, and country, as well as your email address and day and evening phone numbers and your wireless phone number. Staple this to your "Proof of Site Visit" and MAIL both of them IN A NUMBER 9 or NUMBER 10 OR SMALLER ENVELOPE ONLY to Thanks Two Million, c/o JMB Communications, P O Box 1812, Plymouth, MA 02362-1812, USA. Again, entrants may start mailing entries the day our hit counter reaches 1,850,000 site visits.  Through the course of the contest, you may send in a few dozen entries, however, each entry must show a different number in the hit counter.  If you submit duplicate entries all showing the same number in the hit counter, all of them will be shredded. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.  Anyone who submits what the judges in their sole discretion determine is an excessive number of entries risks a portion of them being shredded: a few dozen doesn't mean several hundred. 5. Cancellation: JMB reserves the right to cancel this contest at any time, for any reason. If we do so, no prizes will be awarded. JMB also reserves the right to offer substitute prizes of approximately equal or greater value, if available, should that be necessary. (We don't expect either of these things to happen.)

6. QUALIFYING ENTRIES: JMB will discard entries which do not meet all eligibility requirements. JMB will draw from valid entries and declare a winner. The judge's decision is final. All entrants agree to accept the judges' decision as final. Note: the first person to be drawn as a winner gets her choice of any four of the ten vacation weeks we're offering. Subsequent winners pick from remaining weeks. More details on all prizes are at the top of this page.  It will be up to winners to contact vacation providers to arrange vacation dates. We will provide contact information and will tell the providers who won. 

7. Updates: JMB may provide periodic updates of pre-win hit counts to members of JMB Website Supporters. We expect the final "heads up" count to be issued when we hit about 2.1-million visits, but we can't guarantee to do this.

8. Previous winners of JMB travel prizes and employees or contractors of JMB Communications and their immediate families are not eligible.

9. Unclaimed prizes: If a Grand Prize is unclaimed, or a person drawn is ineligible or declines the prizes, JMB will draw again from qualified entries to determine the winner.  Prizes may be transferable to others at the sole discretion of JMB and those providing the prizes. (Updated 11/5/07.)

10. Airfare is not included, but the "First Grand Price" winner will be given a free five-year membership or membership extension in JMB Website Supporters to use in obtaining low-cost airfares.

11. Rules changes: JMB reserves the right to amend these rules at its discretion at any time.

12. Entrant age: Winners must be at least 21 years old.

13. Void where prohibited, taxed, or restricted. You may incur an income tax liability by claiming prizes; consult your tax advisor.

14. No purchase necessary to win.

15. No prize substitution -- prizes have no cash value and will not be converted into cash. Prizes may or may not be transferable; ask us if you are a winner.

16. All prizes are subject to restrictions imposed by the businesses providing them. For example, at restaurants supplying dinner for two, you can order off the menu but the restaurant is free to impose restrictions on what alcohol you may or may not be able to order. Meals are not included at hotels. Some vacations may be subject to seasonal restrictions/limitations, deadlines for travel, security deposits, or other conditions. Some villas prohibit children. Others allow winners to vacation summers only. Other deadlines and conditions may apply to other items.

17. In conducting its giveaways, JMB Communications does not act as an agent for, and has no legal association whatsoever with, any of the companies that provide prizes. Prizes are provided directly by the companies that own them to the winners; JMB has no involvement except to advise the companies of the identity of the winners. By accepting any prizes, winners conclusively and irrevocably agree without recourse to hold JMB Communications harmless in the event of any dispute of any kind regarding any prize, its use, or its provider. This provision cannot be waived by anyone. Prizes are provided by their owners to winners in return for publicity given by JMB Communications. JMB Communications will accept no liability whatsoever if any company or person that has agreed to provide prizes for this giveaway fails to do so, or provides something other than what they agreed to provide.  The prizes are provided by them, not by us.

18. All paperwork must reach us within five business days of the end of the contest, which is the day the 2,150,000 visitor figure is reached or any earlier date set by JMB Communications. JMB is not responsible for delayed or misrouted entries. Again, entrants may start mailing entries the day our hit counter reaches 1,850,000 site visits. (Updated 11/5/07).

19. Winners must agree to being mentioned on JMB Communications websites (first name, last initial, and city only) and the First Grand Prize winner must agree to being shown in at least one photo.

20. Congratulations for reading this far...we honestly didn't think anyone would! Jeff Berger will personally call all travel award winners for all Thanks Two Million travel prizes.

21. In connection with Thanks Two Million, other prizes may be offered through our weekly St. Maarten newsletter. Readers are urged to subscribe at the top of any page at www.everythingstmaarten.com.

22. By entering, all entrants certify that they meet all eligibility requirements stated here, have read these rules, and agree to abide by them.
