RULES UPDATED 9/4/2006 (changed #1) 

Contest Objective: Win one of six trips (five of them to St. Maarten) and any related prizes shown below by meeting the qualifications shown in these rules. No purchase necessary.

How the contest works: Visitors to Jeff Berger's "St. Maarten Information Center " website who can prove they visited when our hit counter registers anywhere from 1,433,333 visitors to 1,449,999 visitors and who can meet the other requirements detailed below will be eligible for the Grand Prize drawing if they submit the four proofs of visit noted in the rules shown below. All entries must be postmarked within 72 hours of the day our site hits 1,449,999 visitors. Entries from outside the US should use airmail. Use of Priority Mail by US entrants is strongly encouraged.

Rules:

1. Site visitors are now allowed to continuously refresh pages to increase hit counter numbers. We want to award these weeks as much as you want to win them, so hit away....

2. You need not "hit" the specified number (1,444,444 visits) to win, but you must provide JMB with the "proofs of site visits" specified below. Entries that do not meet eligibility requirements defined in these rules will be discarded without further notice. JMB will both define and be the sole judge of your proof.

3. Proof of Site Visit #1: The winner must print the JMB SXM home page clearly showing the hit counter which must be displaying any number from 1,433,333 visitors to 1,449,999 visitors to be eligible to participate in the Grand Prize Drawing. Do NOT refresh your browser if you hit a right number; refreshing your browser will change the figure in the hit counter. In Windows systems, press the PrtScn key near the upper right of your keyboard while viewing the page with the hit counter visible. Open Microsoft Word or a similar program, and click EDIT then PASTE. The image of the browser should appear on the page. Save the document, then print it. Do Not e-mail it to us. See #6.

4. Proof of Site Visit #2: After the hit counter has struck 1,150,000 and before it hits 1,250,000, we will post the words "Proof Of Site Visit Number 2" along with a code word somewhere on our St. Martin website. You must find that paragraph, print it, attach it, and enclose it in your entry clearly marked as Proof of Site Visit #2. Warning: The proof of site visit #2 may (or may not) be removed at some point after we hit 1,250,000. We won't tell you if/when in advance. You must both sign and print your name on the sheet. Do Not email it to us. See #6. [Note: It's still posted. Hint: Do you Google?]

4a. Proof of Site Visit #3: You must print these rules at the same time you print the home page (see #3 above) and write on this page, "I have read and agree to these rules," and both sign and print your name on the sheet. Do Not e-mail it to us. See #6. Note: Do NOT print the rules in advance...they will be updated and you will need to print the updated version.

5. Proof of Site Visit #4: At some time before our site hits 1,444,444 visitors, we will place the following words somewhere on the main JMB Communications website...  "The St. Martin Magic Millions II Magic Word Is ....."  You must find where that phrase appears and print the section of the page showing that expression including the magic word, and include that when you send us your four Proofs of Site Visits. You needn't print the whole page, just a few paragraphs. Visit our main JMB Communications website often; we won't tell you when the "magic word" will be posted. We are not diabolical, though: we intend to leave that phrase up, in the same place, for several weeks. Hint: Once you find it, print it out and save it, since it could disappear before we hit 1,444,444 visitors, but beware: it is on the main JMB Communications website , not on any pages related to St. Maarten. Do Not email it to us. See #6. (Revised 7/13/06). Hint: Do you Google? Note: JMB transitioned in July, 2006, from its "old" to its "new" website. It may take Google a day or two to index the new site after we switch over. The Proof of Site Visit #4 will be on both the old and new JMB Communications sites; the "magic word" is the same on both.

6. Staple together and mail all four Proofs of Site Visit to us. Do not e-mail anything. MAIL to Magic Millions 444 Drawing, c/o JMB Communications, P O Box 1812, Plymouth, MA 02362-1812.  You MUST include your name, street address, daytime and evening phone numbers, and email address as well. If you do not send all the required proofs, you do not win. One entry per family or address. If you submit duplicate entries, all of them will be shredded. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Priority Mail is recommended (airmail from outside the US.)

7. JMB reserves the right to cancel this contest at any time, for any reason. If we do so, no prizes will be awarded. JMB also reserves the right to offer substitute prizes of approximately equal or greater value, if available, should that be necessary. (We don't expect either of these things to happen.)

8. QUALIFYING ENTRIES: JMB will discard entries which do not meet eligibility requirements. JMB will draw from valid entries and declare a winner. The judge's decision is final. All entrants agree to accept the judges' decision as final. Note: the first person to be drawn as a winner gets the beach condo vacation plus his / her choice of the three resorts for a second week of vacation. The second person whose name is picked gets the choice of the remaining two resorts. Third person gets the vacation at the remaining resort. (See Consolation Prize list below for yet another week in St. Maarten.)

9. JMB may provide periodic updates of pre-win hit counts to members of JMB Website Supporters. We expect the final "heads up" count to be issued when we hit about 1.4-million visits, but we can't guarantee to do this.

10. Previous winners of JMB travel prizes and employees or contractors of JMB Communications and their immediate families are not eligible.

11. If a Grand Prize is unclaimed, or a person drawn is ineligible or declines the prizes, JMB will draw again from qualified entries to determine the winner.

12. Airfare is not included, but the winner will be given a free five-year membership or membership extension in JMB Website Supporters to use in obtaining low-cost airfares.

13. JMB reserves the right to amend these rules at its discretion at any time.

14. Winners must be at least 21 years old.

15. Void where prohibited, taxed, or restricted. You may incur an income tax liability by claiming prizes; consult your tax advisor.

16. No purchase necessary to win.

17. No prize substitution -- prizes have no cash value and will not be converted into cash. Prizes may or may not be transferable; ask us if (when) you win.

18. All prizes are subject to reasonable restrictions imposed by the businesses providing them. For example, at restaurants supplying dinner for two, you can order off the menu but the restaurant is free to impose restrictions on what alcohol you may or may not be able to order. Holland House vacation includes breakfasts.

19. In conducting its giveaways, JMB Communications does not act as an agent for, and has no legal association whatsoever with, any of the companies that provide prizes. Prizes are provided directly by the companies that own them to the winners; JMB has no involvement except to advise the companies of the identity of the winners. By accepting any prizes, winners conclusively and irrevocably agree without recourse to hold JMB Communications harmless in the event of any dispute of any kind regarding any prize, its use, or its provider. This provision cannot be waived by anyone. Prizes are provided by their owners to winners in return for publicity given by JMB Communications.

20. JMB Communications will accept no liability whatsoever if any company or person that has agreed to provide prizes for this giveaway fails to do so, or provides something other than what they agreed to provide.  The prizes are provided by them, not by us.

21. All paperwork must reach us within five business days of the end of the contest, which is the day the 1,449,999 visitor figure is reached. JMB is not responsible for delayed or misrouted entries.

22. Some vacations may be subject to deadlines for travel. Other deadlines may apply to other items.

23. Winner must agree to being mentioned on JMB Communications websites (first names and city only) and shown in at least one photo.

24. Congratulations for reading this far...we honestly didn't think anyone would! Jeff Berger will personally call all travel award winners for Magic Millions and all travel consolation prizes.

 

Magic Millions II Super Consolation Prize Rules

This is easy. Here's what you do...

1. Buy a picture postcard (or even a non-picture postcard, doesn't matter).

2. On the day we hit 1,500,000 site visits at www.everythingstmaarten.com, write the date on the back of the postcard plus PRINT your name, complete street address, city, state, country, and postal code, daytime and evening phone numbers, and email address.  For privacy you can put the postcard in an envelope if you wish.

3. Mail the postcard to us at CONSOLATION, c/o Jeff Berger's St. Maarten Website, P. O. Box 1812, Plymouth, MA 02362-1812.

4. About 10 days after we reach 1.5-million site visits, we'll pick a winner of the Super Consolation Prizes noted above. We're waiting 10 days to allow overseas entries to arrive.

5. All super consolation prizes will be won by one winner, except t-shirt prizes which go to multiple winners.

6. Prize does not include transportation or meals. Winner is responsible for any taxes charged by any jurisdiction.

7. IMPORTANT: All entries to Magic Millions II (except winners) will automatically be entered into the Super Consolation Prize drawing.

8. No purchase necessary to win. All winners must be at least 21 years of age.

Note:  These rules apply to the "Adventurous Couples" Super Consolation Prize only. You must enter this contest separately (since not everybody is "Adventurous"!).

On that same document, write "Adventurous Couples Clothing-Optional Vacation."

4. Mail it to ADVENTURE, c/o JMB Communications, P. O. Box 1812, Plymouth, MA 02362-1812. About 10 days later we will draw the winner from all entries received. (This is a change...we had originally said "The first correct entry we receive wins.")

5. Prize does not include transportation. Winner is responsible for any taxes charged by any jurisdiction.

6. No purchase necessary to win. All winners must be at least 21 years of age.  Trip must be taken in July or August, 2007, and includes breakfasts.
